Many patients have been wrongly told that they have to pay care home fees in full or in part. Many will be able to recover some or all of the fees they have paid and have all future fees paid by the NHS.
If someone has been in a care home because of serious health since 1996*, then they may be entitled to NHS Continuing Care payments.
If someone's health needs are so great that they need full time care in a hospital; care home or even their own home, then the National Health Service must pay for it. Many patients have been wrongly told that they do not qualify for this funding.
